Doughnuts

I'm still playing with recipes to find the best doughnut. Baked not fried, so it makes it harder finding the best recipe. Fried tastes so much better but baked is healthier. Plus I don't like the mess and waste of frying. Anyhow, here is a recipe I did this morning. Not bad. But going to keep trying.

Hump Day!

Happy Birthday Nori!

Saturday was our daughters 19th birthday! We had a good time and went to dinner later that night. She is growing so fast.....I mean 19! Anyhow.....Happy Birthday!!

Getting ready for Christmas!

I love the last three months of the year! It's cold and it's the months of great holidays.....Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas! We got a real tree again this year but it will be the last year. From now on we will be doing the artificial tree. Less mess and easier! I do enjoy a real one thou. Oh well. It will be okay. I am going to try a whole new look next year!

Car wash time

My daughter works part time at a car wash. She has been wanting me to come in to get my car washed. So the other day I was off and decided while in town close to her job I would go in. My car really needed it anyway!

Christmas craft

My friend told me how to make a wreath out of toilet/paper towel rolls. So we both started to collect them to make our wreath. It was pretty easy and didn't look too bad.

Thanksgiving

Okay....for Thanksgiving we shared it with our friends that live across the street. We had good food and enjoyed the day together.

October Birthday

Okay....it has been a very long while because David had is birthday in October!! I know, I know....sorry. I think about things I have to post and that is as far as it gets! All I can do or say is I will try to get better at keeping up with things....at least in the same month they happen! haha

Bathroom pictures....6

Okay so I took pictures of the rest of the bathroom redo, the other side of the bathroom.
So far this is where we are at. Almost there with being bone. We still need to finish the counter top and replace the sink/faucet, also I will be painting the door frames and door and, of course, laying down a floor. But the floor has to be done thru the whole house so I don't count that (smile).

Over due.....

I know it has been a long while. My last client went into an assisted living facility so I took the month of September off. In October I took on a new client and back to work! Here is my lovely dog, Lunchbox. I have more to post but it will take time.

Halloween decorations

This is my favorite time of year! During September I start getting excited. October, November and December are my months! For October - Halloween - I have done some decorations.

Mini Corn Dogs

I made the kids mini corn dogs and everyone likes them! And the nice part....so easy to make!

September pot luck

This time I made chocolate cup cakes for our community pot luck. With an almond flavored glaze for the top and coconut sprinkled on for an almond joy feel!

Truck is fixed!

I had posted about an accident to the truck our daughter, Nori, drives. I was in a parking lot at 4 am. It took a while but the truck finally got fixed. Of course, the lady that hit the truck paid for the repair. Well, her insurance did. Either way.....it's done!

Art Show

Logan was recognized for his art that he did last year in art class in school. The piece he drew was displayed in the head corders of Chico's! He even got his picture taken with a school board member!

Happy Birthday Neighbors

We got new neighbors about a month ago. We get along with them like we have known them for a long time. Their birthdays are back to back so we got them a cake with both their names on it.

Vacation Time!

We went on vacation to Daytona Beach Shores. It is easier to do vacation in the state you live in, less traveling. Anywho, we had a good time. We got a better room this go around! Having a better motel is so worth it.

Sweet & Sour Chicken

We like sweet and sour chicken. So I thought of an idea of how to make it myself. I wasn't sure how is was going to turn out. It ended up being very good! Here is how I did it.

How wonderful!

My client gave me the most wonderful gift! I wanted one last year so David was going to get me one for Christmas. Well, the aren't cheap and I didn't get one. So how surprised I was when I was blessed to have one given to me out of the blue!

Ball Soap Jar

I have a Ball Mason jar that I turned into a soap jar for my kitchen.

Nori thinks it looks funny. Well pooh on her (smile), I like it.

Nori has a part-time job and making a little bit of her own money! Well with her earned money she bought me a gift. I love it! She really was happy about getting it for me also. She picked it out herself!

Vacation mishap

My hubby was on vacation the week of Memorial Day. He was going to use the week redoing our shower. So as I went off to work Monday morning, he had started removing tile in the shower. About 30 minutes after I left I got a call...........

Our daughter graduated high school! We are so proud of her. 

She was suppose to wear something nice under her gown but she wanted to wear the same shirt her Daddy did when he graduated!

A walk in the park

We went to another park - Six Mile Slough. Saw some neat critters and enjoyed ourselves! Especially because there were no misquotes! That always a plus for me.

Sunburn - ouch!

Logan went out with some friends to the beach one weekend. He came back burnt! The parents of his friends felt so sorry and came over to check on him a few days later. She tried to put sun block on them but they kept running away (boys). He said he learned his lesson thou. I guess living is sunny Florida everyone has to experience their first sunburn. I know I did.....more than once.

Long John's!

The county we live in shut down all the Long John Silvers a while ago. So it's been a long time since we have seen or eaten at one. David's parents told us there is one in the county north of us.

Surviving!

I haven't been too good with plants surviving in my care.

Now that we are at a new place it seems things are different.

Rose blossom

The miniature rose bush I got for my birthday bloomed! It is so small and pretty. I have to transplant it in a larger pot. Will try to do that this weekend (was suppose to do it last weekend - but worked instead). Hopefully it will get more blossoms as it grows bigger. Until then, here is the little thing.

Tuna Noodle Casserole

My kids like tuna noodle casserole, but I was trying to get away from the canned cream of mushroom soup that the recipe calls for. We try to stay away the best we can from food with chemicals. The less we consume the better. So here is a recipe that my kids really likes and didn't miss the cream soup.

I know, they don't look normal. They are missing that Easter grass. 

Well we don't like it therefore don't use it. It's not about the grass anyway. 

Lazy Days

Some days are just meant to be lazy. Here is what it looks like at our home.

Yard Work

We did some yard work. We take our time and do just a little at a time. This way it will take time to get the outcome we want but that is okay. We aren't going anywhere. Plus we prefer the little here and little there so we can still enjoy life going places and doing things. So here is what we did.

I got some mother-in-law tongues from my....well, mother-in-law (haha). I like them and they grow very well. So while over there they said I could take some. Now to figure out where to put them in our yard. We decided on the tree out back.

This cost us only our time. We had the blocks and soil sitting around waiting to be used.

And the plants came form family.

So you can't beat that for a nice plant garden added to the yard.

We also hung a bird house my grandpa made. It is in another tree in the back yard. It also over looks the lake for a nice touch for what ever bird makes it home.

My boys!

My boys brought home certificates on the same day. They do such a good job at their work. I'm proud of you guys!!

Happy Late St. Patty's Day

I know this is late but hey......it's called life (smile). Now I have some time so here it is.

We had green pancakes with blueberries and Logan put green food coloring in water.

13 Wonderful Years!

Yesterday was our anniversary. We went to a place called 'The Melting Pot' for dinner. Everything is fondue style eating, except the salad of course.

 This was the cheese fondue. It came with veggies, apples and bread.

 The salads are good.

 Then the main course. We had a seafood platter. The main course comes with potatoes, broccoli and mushrooms. Everything is cooked in the fondue, seasoned broth and then there are six different dipping sauces. This style of cooking I find very yummy!

 Last is the dessert. A chocolate fondue with all kinds of goodies for dipping. The problem with the picture is I remembered to take a picture after we had already eaten all the dessert!

Our table came with balloons and they take your picture for you to take home.

So here is to 13 wonderful years and for many more to come!!!

Wonderful find!

I believe in visualizing on what I want in life. So I have been visualizing living room furniture I want: a couch and love seat, soft leather for easy cleaning with the animals and to also match the rest of our furniture. Then I went to a thrift store to drop off some items and this is what I saw.

So I called up Hubby and he came out with the truck and we bought the set. Boy does it look nice in our living room. I think it will look even better after we paint the living room. I will do update pictures of the furniture in our living room after I paint.

I am late on this post for Logan and Puba's birthday. It was Monday and we had a get together on Saturday. I have been busy and wasn't able to post like I wanted to, I call it life :-) 

Anywho, here is the birthday we had for my son and father-in-law on Saturday.

Making Biscuits

The other day my boys made some biscuits. They were pretty good!

They decided to roll and cut out biscuits instead of taking the easy way of making drop biscuits.
