My hubby was on vacation the week of Memorial Day. He was going to use the week redoing our shower. So as I went off to work Monday morning, he had started removing tile in the shower. About 30 minutes after I left I got a call...........
That's right.......a piece of tile hit his ankle on the way to the floor and cut him.
The doctor noticed that it had also cut his artery, as it was squirting blood out. From what David told me the cut was wide and deep. He even started feeling light headed from loss of blood. He got 6 stitches and had to rest with his foot up until his check up on Wednesday.
This is how it looked when I got home from work. Still bloody.
Because his artery was cut he had to keep the bandage really tight.
Therefore he was to unwrap the bandage every hour to get blood back to his foot.
Then he had to change the gauze later that night.
The artery slowly stopped bleeding.
The very bottom of the cut was not stitched.
It had to be left open so the blood could drain.
Some of the blood did bleed inside him causing this blood mark.
He is doing much better now and has to go back in another week to have the stitches taken out. As for our shower, it is slowly coming along and will get done when it gets done.
