Hot Tea and Dinner

My daughter was visiting one day and we went to the thrift store. They had this cute, little loose leaf tea pot that I liked. She told me to get it even tho I didn't think I would use it. But for the price I took her advice and got it. I found some loose leaf tea at the grocery store and decided to try it in my little tea pot. I must say I really like it! The flavor of the fresh tea leaves are so nice also.

This tea pot fits nicely under our coffee pot also...win, win I say! Makes it that much more convenient and easy to use. I let it steep for the amount listed on the tea jar then pour it in my mug and enjoy!

This tea is a nice, light, mild flavor. I enjoy it at night while relaxing after a long day. I thank my daughter for saying "Geez, Mom, just get it"....lol Thanks honey!

Now on to dinner.
Tonight was a simple meal. Baked potato fries, rice and homemade pinto beans.

Let the beans soak overnight. Rinse the next morning and add to a large pot with fresh water to cover. I added a diced onion, some minced garlic, thyme and parley. Let boil and cook until tender. Just check on them once in a while and do the taste test for doneness. Once soft I added salt, onion powder and garlic powder. Top some over the rice, throw on some potatoes and dinner is served!

And yes, I ate all that!

Until next time.....Enjoy!
