The theater wasn't as nice as others we've seen. But the atrium was nice. It has the inside balconies. Also, we were told by RCC goers that because the cruise was so empty we could probably get an upgrade from our inside cabin to something nicer. Well it never hurts to ask, the answer was no. If we wanted one of their many empty room we would have to pay an additional cost. Strike one for this line because we know from past cruisers, other lines upgrade for free.
Mini golf we did play tho! It was really cool. We had fun.
The buffet area was nice with plenty to choose from. But they didn't have certain item other lines have. Plus it didn't have an area that was open thru the late night. The only place to eat late was a sandwich shop with no vegan options! But they do have a vegan menu.....just only for the dinning room, not the buffet or late night eating. Sucks. Strike two.
The picture next to the buffet was a public restroom. Wow! The whole side was a window. And a toilet on both left and right side of those walls also facing the window, but with doors of course. It was so neat!!
The room was nice with a larger than usual couch and a curtain to divide the bed from the couch and tv area. BUT when we booked for our anniversary there wasn't anything in our room or nothing to congratulate us! Yes, if you don't know, cruise's do that kind of thing. When you book they ask if there is an occasion you're celebrating and of course we said "Our 20th anniversary"! The person was like "awesome" and she said she made a note of it. Then during the cruise others that were celebrating an anniversary or birthday had their door decorated by the cruise and was recognized during dinner. So we were gipped on our 20th! Strike three.
The complimentary dinning room - the only place we could get a vegan menu. And an ice rink! They had an ice show on it one night and let people ice skate another time. We didn't ice skate tho but did go see the show.
First stop - Nassau, Bahamas. Island beer...not so good. This island didn't thrill me like others have but that's okay. I went there and explored!
Sadly, this was the one and only towel animal they did. I'm spoiled with all the other lines cause they do a towel animal every night! I don't know if this would really count as a strike four tho. There were a few other strikes this cruise had and I was really hoping for a better experience due to all the loyal customers they have telling us once we cruise Royal we'll never go back. Well, I'm here to say not so. I didn't see or experience anything that made them over the top and better than other lines. If we ever cruise with them again it will only be for the destinations and not them in general!
Last stop and the reason we took this particular cruise.......Perfect Day Coco Cay!!! The cruise lines private island. We enjoy all the cruise lines private island but this one was suppose to be amazing because of everything it has. It was nice! But the amusement park part of the island cost, along with the cabanas and beds. Rode on a little island trolly around the island tho, it was free. Snorkeled just about the whole time!!
Then it was all over just like that. Back home to the mundane. But a very strange and eerie feeling in the terminal. I took pictures because I have never seen it completely empty! Then got in trouble by the port authority. My dumb ass was too amazed at the emptiness that I didn't see the large sign that said 'no pictures'...ops. So I apologized, showed him the pictures I took and asked if he wanted to watch me delete them. He smiled and said "No, I knew what you were doing". There wasn't anyone or anything in the terminal so he let me keep my pictures.
Until next time.....Enjoy!!
