Food and crochet!

As anyone should know I love my electric pressure cooker. I've had it over 2 years now and still enjoy using it every day. It is so wonderful to use. If you don't yet have one and have been thinking of getting one....DO IT!! I use mine to make so much stuff. One of the most enjoyable things to cook in it is dry beans. I know that sounds weird but I was never good at cooking dry beans. I would try and try and try and could never get it right. But with my Cosori I can make them right all the time. Here lately I've been learning how to make spaghetti in the electric pressure cooker. And so far it's turning out to be an easy hit.

Take everything you plan on putting in your spaghetti and place it in the pot. I make homemade pasta sauce because store bought has added oil (and we stay away from that best as possible at home). Then I add veggies of choice (kale, spinach, broccoli, etc.). Then stir in 16 oz package of whole wheat pasta. Lastly add about 3 to 4 cups of water. This is where you will have to make it a few times to see how much you need for cooking the pasta in. I also stick to one type of pasta because we eat whole wheat pasta and the stores stopped carrying all different kinds of the whole wheat pastas and now only carry one type - spiral. Sucks but it is what it is.

Now with a pressure cooker you don't cook the pasta for the same amount of time you would on the stove. You take the time it says on the package and do half. This pasta called for 10 minutes of cook time. Therefore I cooked it in the Cosori for 5 minutes, high pressure. Once done I did a quick release and dinner was served. Hot as hell, but done. Or as my boys like to say, "molten lava".
If you noticed I forgot to add my veggies to this spaghetti meal. Bummer. But still good. Next time.

I've also started messing around with crocheting again. I'm still a beginner because even after about 10 years I don't do it a lot. I also don't like to do too many beginner patterns. I'm stubborn. Oh well.

We go on cruises and they can get cold. Especially during the live shows. I took a small blanket last time but this time I wanted to take a poncho. I figured it would be nicer than a blanket I have to always carry around. With a poncho I just put it on and be done with it, hands are free. This took me a lot of time. I did a lot of un-doing and re-working.........too many times! But like I said - I'm a beginner trying to do shit I don't know much about. hehehehe

I eventually got it and was doing good making a shit ton of rounds. Until I would find a mistake somewhere and would have to un-do about 3 rounds each time.....ugh!!! Finally I finished - thank goddess. My "break" was now cutting yarn for fringe. Then adding the fringe. It might have been a stressful job but I am happy with the outcome. And I am excited to be using it on our up coming cruise. Yay!!

I know the picture isn't a good one but the lighting best there. Maybe I'll get another, better picture and show ya'll. Until then, this is it. Oh, and it also has a hood. Now my son wants me to make him a cape! Way outta my beginner level for sure......so challenge excepted.

Until next time - Enjoy!!
