Done with bullying and schools that don't care!

I live where the schools don't give a shit about bullying! Oh they say they do, but they don't! Our son was bullied for several years. It started in the second grade. It was so bad that his grades dropped and he failed. The so called adults in the school didn't care and so we pulled him out and put him in another school. Things were going a little better in the new school but not so good on the bus. He was being physically touched (pushed, hit, punched...you know touched!). And nothing was done about it. I was always calling the school and talking to the assistant principal - nothing. So it got to the point where we pulled him off the bus and I started taking him back and forth to school. Then at the end of the year last year we moved. A new bus would come with that move. Well, things were going a lot better! Until today.




I got a call from the schools ISS teacher (In School Suspension). She tells me he hit someone on the bus and there fore won't be allowed to ride the bus Monday. When I talked to Logan he said that a boy sitting with him was bothering him. He asked him to please stop and the boy wouldn't...."so I punched him!" came out of my son's mouth. The ISS teacher said Logan told her the same story and she was going to look into the other boy to punish him also (so far it is just Logan being punished, which is how it usually works - he gets bullied AND punished! Go figure.). Then she tells me that Logan needs to tell an adult - like the bus driver or a teacher or school staff person. HA WHAT A JOKE!! Is she kidding me right about now!?! I had to explain to her all the years he was bullied, all the years we told him to report it to an adult, all the years we told him not to get involved so he didn't get in trouble, all the years I spoke to these so called adults myself and all the years it all fell on deaf ears!

Logan has learned - thanks to the school - that he can't really trust an adult. What a wonderful thing to teach a kid, huh? Plus you can only push a human being so far before they have enough and start fighting back. Think about how long it would take you to be pushed, shoved, slapped, punched, kicked, name called and so on before you made a stand!! Minutes, hours, days, weeks? Well, Logan took it for about 3 + years! Now he just fights back! He has had enough! Yes, he is usually the only one that gets in trouble, but he no long thinks about it. He doesn't like getting in trouble, he tries to do good in school but hey what is he to do when he knows there is no one there to help him but himself?

We are at a loss of what to do anymore. We have gotten nowhere. So much for all the so called "bully" laws and all that bullshit. Because that is what it is.....bullshit! And the sad part is, it hurts Logan's feelings.....he gets sad when someone bullies him, he gets sad after he takes a stand and fights back and he gets sad when they send him to ISS. The last time this happened he cried to me over the phone that he didn't mean it! That breaks my heart! And again today...talking to him over the phone I could hear the sadness in his voice. My heart aches for him. We shouldn't be going through this crap, no family should!
