And what's inside is even better. Or so far I think. I mean, how should I really know if I've never had or used one before. But I'm that excited! Like it's Christmas! Oh wait, this is my Christmas gift. These days I have to buy my own gifts. So I bought this! Whoot whoot!!
Okay, I'll explain a little, or maybe a lot, about this product before showing you. Only because it will help you decide if it's something you could use, want or need (or like me, all the above). Also, as to why I bought this particular brand.
I have seen something called an instant pot here and there online and looked into it but not much. Then some months later I came across it again. So this time I did a little more digging and research. Well, I found out that this "amazing" pot is an electric pressure cooker.
I have always liked the idea of a pressure cooker but not what came with it - constantly watching it on the stove and the idea of accidental harm. But these electric ones take all that worry away. Therefore I did even more research. And I must say I was really interested in this neat cooking pot.
They have been around a while but are just now going viral. The one that seems to be more recognized is one called the 'Instant Pot' from a company in Canada. The thing I liked about this pot was the inside pot is stainless steal. The others on the market are teflon coated. And I don't do teflon coated. But I really didn't want this one from Canada. Not that I have a problem with that country, (Hell everything here is from china). I didn't like some of the reviews.
A shit ton of reviews are good and positive. Enough good and positive you should really consider this particular brand. Well, not me. Because there were a hand full of reviews that concerned the warranty and ethics of the company. See, these reviews were letting people know that they had a problem with the unit they received and needed to return it. Mind you it's still under warranty. Well the company won't honor its warranty and won't deal with these people that have problems. Not right! I will not take my chances with this company for that reason. Where does that leave me......more searching!
I then looked into the many brands available. Wow! Even the brand 'Crock-Pot' makes an electric pressure cooker. But like I said most are using teflon coated inside pots. Then I came across another brand that uses stainless steal and has awesome reviews. And it's not the Instant Pot brand! Yay!
The brand is called 'Cosori'. Well of course I had to then figure out which one of their several electric pressure cookers would work for our family. I finally decided on this particular 6 quart (they have 3 different ones). I liked it better and if this was an investment that I will be using for a long time then I'll pay for the one I liked best. Plus its cooking functions suite our lifestyle of eating.
It was very well packaged! And when I finally got it out of all the packaging it was even better than I thought seeing it online. Look at its shininess!
Another reason that it topped the brand Instant Pot....this one came with an extra sealing ring and a regular cooking lid; for when you want to sauté things. Plus I also liked the steaming tray a lot better. Just all in all I liked everything about this brand so much more that the other brand.
Here is everything that came in the box. User manual, warranty info, recipe book, cooking lid, extra sealing ring, spoon, ladle, condensation catcher, measuring cup, steam tray, inner pot, housing unit, and pressure lid. Awesome! I'm still excited!
I sat down after unpacking it and read the whole user manual. I know, crazy. Most people don't give instructions or manuals the time of day. But I'm the weird one. I read that shit.
Then I cleaned it and made dinner that night with it. Of course it was real simple. Rice. But that's what hubby wanted. And it was something simple so I could get use to how it works and how food turns out. It was fast and good. The next night, yep, made dinner in it again. This time more than just rice. I used one of my recipes! And again, it turned out nice and was fast. The only mess in the kitchen I had was the inside pot and pressure lid to clean.
And check out the inside pot in all it's glory and beauty (was that a bit too much?....nope)
It also has measurements inside the pot.
Just to let y'all know why I went with the 6 quart. When you cook in a pot, any pot, you can never use it's actual capacity. If you are cooking chili that would fill a 3 quart pot you would cook it in a 4 or 5 quart pot. Because you need extra head space for stirring, boiling and that stuff. So you never use the actual size of the pot. Understand. Therefore, I felt 6 quarts would be plenty. I won't have to worry about it ever not having enough space for what I want to cook. I also went by the size of my crock-pot. It is a 4 quart and I couldn't ever fill it. So it always seemed to make not quite enough. I almost went with the largest they had - 8 quarts. But I figured that would be a bit much! Just think of that when or if you decide to look into possibly buying one. Maybe also judge by which pot in your kitchen you use most. If it's a 4 quart and you cook almost all your meals with it, then buy the 4 quart. Like I said, my 4 quart crock-pot was never quite large enough so I went with the 6 quart. But if my crock-pot always seemed too big, I would of went with a small size pressure cooker. Hope this helps.
Until next time......Enjoy Eating!!
