Trip to Melbourne!

So hubby had to go on a business trip to Melbourne. And as his lucky wife I got to go with him! I have not been to Melbourne and was excited to go. Granted I would be on my own during the day. Being a business trip for hubby he has to go to work every day.....awe sorry. But we can still enjoy time together when he gets off work.

There is an Air Force Military base in Melbourne.

 And a cruise ship port.

The hotel from the ocean. And the room.
The balcony looking toward the ocean. Not ocean view but that was okay.
The hotel form the road.

And here is the path I had to walk to get from the hotel to the ocean.
Jeez it was a awful long walk. Sand was so hot going that distance that you couldn't go barefoot.

 Finally, the ocean!

So hubby was told to go here for good food. Boy were they right!
We ate here twice while on this trip.

Yum! Above is the appetizer, fried jalapeño balls. And might I say....holy crap!
I got the mango teriyaki mahi with fries and sautéed zucchini!
Yummy! Oh yeah, and grilled garlic bread!!
Hubby got a dirty smothered chicken. Smothered chicken was covered with cheese and jalapeños (can't remember exactly, it wasn't mine....lol) Dirty meant is came topped with bacon. He got is served with sautéed mushrooms, fries and grilled garlic bread.

And then there was dessert. I've never had rhubarb pie and they had it. So I tried it. Fell slap in love with it too....lol. I have been looking for it ever since and no one seems to have it, not even Publix! So that only means I'm going to have to learn to make it!

I thought the way they gave the check was cool.

 Okay....back to the ocean.

A Krispy Kreme break from the ocean.
Oh yeah!!!
I know, you don't have to say anything.
Just take this moment for yourself.

We were over there the same week David's parents were at their timeshare. We weren't real close but close enough to for us to meet half way for dinner at least one night. On our way there we saw this cool building. We went to a place in Cape Canaveral.

Coconut shrimp (hubby's) and shrimp scampi (mine). Dessert was, I think, fried cheese cake.

More ocean time.

So there was this beach cat. And I like cats! One day as I was walking down to the ocean I stopped and petted the kitty. Later as I went to leave the beach he came over to me and did this. Awe...
He looks like my cat, Magoo, I have at home.

Enjoy!
