Timeshare Vacation

It's been a very long time since I have posted anything. We have been busy remodeling our home and helping our daughter with hers too. I came across health problems that took months of exams and testing (everything is okay). I've been hunting for a new job (not getting enough hours at my current one). And plus I didn't think it mattered if I made these posts or not. Until my Mom-in-law told me she misses seeing them. :-) So here you go Mom.

I'm starting off with the last vacation we went on. Ormond-by-the-Sea! We were looking to buy a timeshare over on the east coast of Florida (cause we vacation there every year!). I have been searching and calling places for a year. I wanted to start after our last vacation so we had enough time to purchase it and then could use it the following year. Let me tell you....these timeshare companies are terrible. First it's hard to find, they don't advertise. Thank goodness I picked up some info from our last vacation there when we went resort hopping. I emailed them concerning the info we picked up and NEVER received an email back. I even called and the manager said he would have the sales guy call me back - nope, that didn't happen either. So I went online to the company my in-laws use and they only had a number. I called, no answer, so left a message....NO reply! I'm thinking..."How the hell do they sell timeshares and make money and how the hell does one buy a timeshare!" After all that madness I went to where I like to go for a lot of things these days - Craigslist!

That took months too. I was having problems finding what I wanted. The timeshare I was looking for had to have ALL the things I wanted. I wasn't going to settle. It couldn't be on the first floor, it had to be facing the ocean with a balcony, during one of the weeks we could do, in Ormond and be a good price. People think these things are worth the cost of a home. Crazy. I wasn't going to spend more than I would on a hotel for a week. And I know timeshares can be less than a hotel, that's why we decided to buy one. I had a budget and was sticking to it! Finally found one and the best parts - it was in the area I really wanted to be and it was a week we wanted! Hell, it was everything we wanted and more!! It was meant to be! I researched the timeshare website and liked it. I contacted the person right away and said we are buying! We were going over there on vacation and planned on meeting at the unit to look at it. Then asked the seller if it was being used that week. No! Awesome! We plan on buying so can we stay in it? Yes! Awesome!

The timeshare and people there were nice. We really enjoyed everything! It's an older building and doesn't have some things that others do. But we don't go over there for that. We go over for the ocean and time with each other as a family. It sleeps 4 and we can also ask for a cot to sleep another. Okay, I think this is long enough and who reads all this anyway?! So here we go with the pictures!

I was awesome that the couch was water proof! And I liked that it was tile thru out.

Of course I had to have a balcony facing the beach! And it's a no drive beach!

At the ends of the halls there were different pictures on each floor.

This is a tanning deck. It was easy access for us cause it is on our floor.

I've not seen timeshares with a grass yard. I really like this.

This is how the sunrise comes into our timeshare! I love it!
I had to ware my sunglasses while having breakfast but I didn't care.

I love my sunrises over the ocean!

We visited a park at the foot of one of the bridges.

Yes, that's my 14 year old son!

Tomoka scenic road and Tomoka Park.

We visited a very dear friend of mine that I call Mom!

We decided to go visit the light house. Not a bad price to get in either. The part that sucked was climbing to the top of the light house. Will never do it again that's for sure!

There is our convertible in the left picture. Gary with black top.

On our way home we stopped at a gas station and this was there! Wow!

That's all folks!
