A little something

I saw this little bug on our patio and thought he was cool looking.
I think it looks like a small stone.

Here I took the pictures and cropped them to make the little bug bigger to see him better.

Happy Birthday...to Me!!

Today is my 39th Birthday! I had a good day. My hubby took the day off today and tomorrow to spend with me! Went to a doctors appointment this morning and have a case of bronchitis. Yea! Then had to work from 11am to 2pm at my clients, which was okay. Came home and my daughter and her friend Sam made me a wonderful birthday cake! I received some wonderful gifts too.

This beautiful miniature rose was given to me by my aunt.
I hope is lives, I'm not too good with live plants! Thank you!

The incense was from my daughter - Thank you Sweetie!
The soft fuzzy sock my hubby picked up - Thanks Honey!

Here is the yummy cake Nori and Sam made me.
It had coconut and pineapple with pudding!
Thank you guys, it was fantastic!!

David and I went and got me a brand new dish washer!!
Yea! I forgot to take a picture of the nice inside.

Another gift David picked up for me. I like the tree necklace!
Thank you Honey!

My parents got me this wonderful glass cutting board! I wanted a glass one but could not find one that didn't have that rough glass texture to it. So I was just using a square glass microwave plate. So this was an awesome gift to get a real cutting board and without the rough texture. Thank you so much!

My in-laws brought this cookie; for back up I was told. :-)

My in-laws gave me a new pillow! OMG! How much I needed a new pillow! I can't wait to try it tonight. I am excited! Who would of thought you could get that happy over a pillow! Thank you very much!

To everyone:
THANK YOU AND I LOVE YOU!!!

Dog bed

David's parents gave us their dog bed because their little guy wasn't using it. So we figured one of our dogs would use it. We have a small size couch pillow on the floor for their bed but we have two dogs. Anywho, we brought the pillow home and put it on the floor next to the one we had. Here is who used it first!

Yep, our old man - Gus.
Then the big guy came and laid on the smaller pillow.

He really doesn't fit on the smaller pillow but we think if he had a chance he would fit on the bigger one my in-laws gave us. Eventually he got his turn to try it out but it wasn't the same day.

Thank you for the dog bed! It came in handy and useful!

Entertainment Center Find!

We finally found the kind of entertainment center we were looking for. They will match and look like one unit when I get around to it. But for now here is the before and after.

Here is what we use to have. The unit was for a smaller t.v. (obviously) but it was what we had so we made do. After a few years of making do I wanted to get one that fit everything. I had the unit I wanted in my head but couldn't find it anywhere. We had decided maybe we would have to make one ourselves. Then I finally found a t.v. table at a thrift store for only $45! It was part of what was in my head! I was so happy to of found it. We took it home and went back out. At another thrift store David spotted side units with a top piece. It was the other part of what was in my head. David knew this also because I explained to him what I was looking for in a t.v. unit. So we got it.

Because the side units have black accents we are going to paint the t.v. table black. We both decided before finding these pieces that we were going to paint the unit black so we wasn't looking at color when shopping. It was nice to find the side units with the black accents and we think it will look extra sharp when we paint the center piece! Will post that picture when we get it done.

Magick Show

Our community had a magick show last year that was surprisingly very good. This year they had it again (2nd annual is how they put it). And of course we went again. Logan participated this time. It was still a very good show. We will go every time he comes! Nori even goes, that alone should tell you how good we enjoy the show - for an 18 year old to take time out of her day with friends and out of the house on a Saturday!! (Love you Sweetpea!!)

That thing sliced carrots and then he did a trick with a kids hand.
It was cool. He cut the carrots and then put the kids hand in.
But it didn't cut his hand.

Logan sitting up front, well closer than we were.

He finally was picked to help with a trick.

He kept giving Logan scissors that wouldn't cut.
You just had to of been there to enjoy it.

At the end of the trick he gave Logan the rope that they were using.

Chinese Food!

One of mine and David's favorite foods is Chinese. We have a wonderful Chinese restaurant near us. They serve Chinese and Japanese food. David got a Japanese dish one day when we went there for lunch. I'm not real big on Japanese so I stick to Chinese dishes.

Here is the Garlic Honey Chicken I ordered. It was so good!!

Here is the Box Japanese plate David ordered. He enjoyed it!!

Rice Pudding

Rice pudding is a favorite of mine. It reminds me of my childhood. Warm, comforting and good. I'm sure I don't make it like Grandma but I think that is okay. As long as I still make it, enjoy memories, make memories for my kids is all that really matters.
Anyhow, here is how I make it.

Start with 2 cups leftover rice.

Add 1-1 1/2 cups of milk and 1/2 cup sugar. Stir and cook until starts to thicken.

Add 1 tsp vanilla extract. And cinnamon. Now the cinnamon is suppose to be sprinkled on top when serving. I like the flavor so I add 1 tsp to the cooking rice.

Serve with a dollop of whip cream
and sprinkle with cinnamon if you don't add it while cooking.

I like mine warm not cold.

It's been a while

I have been busy working and then came down with something. Not sure what. No runny nose, no stuffy nose, no fever or the feeling of being "sick". Just a cough. A one hell of a cough. My voice went funny, to the point where David wanted me to sing like Stevie Nix or Janice Joplin.....haha. So I figured I would a least get on today and post something. Nori sent this to me and I like it.
